Japan's Lou Gerstner

Article Abstract:

Tadashi Sekizawa, head of Fujitsu, the second-largest computer manufacturer in the world, was able to make preparations from the shift away from mainframes to networked personal computers. He has implemented significant changes in corporate culture, and has also shed 10% of Fujitsu's 40,000 employees since 1993. He believes that PCs are becoming appliances like telephones, and is seeking to sell customers the infrastructure that links PCs together, rather than the PCs themselves.
