Y&R Frankfurt scoops up $65m in retail accounts

Article Abstract:

Young and Rubicam Frankfurt has been awarded the creative account of German supermarket operator Tengelmann, estimated to be worth $35 million. It is believed that Tengelmann wishes to create a more stylish image as it faces increasing competition, particularly from discount chain Aldi. Young and Rubicam has also won accounts from the Sinn and Leffers fashion retail chains, both of which are owned by Schickedanz and are due to merge.

AMV BBDO corrals $25m Wrangler Europe account

Article Abstract:

Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO has been awarded Wrangler Europe's $25 million creative advertising account following competition for the work from GGT and Duckworth Finn Grubb Waters. There are now plans to boost marketing work in established markets and to develop distribution in developing markets, including Scandinavia and Italy. The advertising agency could eventually be responsible for the Wrangler brand in the Asia-Pacific region.
