Article Abstract:

German Wacker-Chemie GmbH of Munich and American Air Products and Chemicals Inc of Allentown will combine their activities in the fields of dispersions and dispersion powder. The two new joint ventures will have a combined turnover of DM 1.6bn. Wacker Polymer Systems, with plants in Burghausen and Calvert City, will be in charge of Vinnapas dispersion powder and solid resin, Vinnol resins for lacquers and varnishes and Vinnapas dispersions. Air Products Polymer GmbH & Co operates factories in Cologne, at six sites in the US, in Mexico and Korea. It will be in charge of vinyl acetate, ethylene, acrylate and styrene acrylate dispersions. Air Products holds a majority share in Air Products Polymer GmbH & Co.

Joint Venture mit deutscher Firma

Article Abstract:

Two German companies, Gross Kielper Rot and Elro Rot have set up a joint venture in Georgia with Lilo Enterprises for the production of fruit juice. The new company called Relco will use the premises of Lilo and a packaging facility of Tetra Pak of Sweden. Annual production at the plant is to be raised from 2mn 0.5-litre and 1-litre cartons to 15mn cartons and the number of varieties from 4 to 14. 60% of the raw materials will come from Georgia.

Joint Venture Juschmasch-Case

Article Abstract:

US Case and Ukrainian Juschmasch are to set up a joint venture to manufacture tractors. Production is to start in July 1998. In 1998, about 500 tractors will be produced, and by 2003 annual production should reach 4,000-4,500. In the first year local content in the machnes will be 5-7%, reaching 45%-50% within 4 years. The tractors will have a power of 250 hp be priced at US$ 100,000-120,000.
