Justice without tears: Dispute resolution

Article Abstract:

Companies in the UK invest a lot in legal costs to resolve disputes. However Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) involves the use of a professional mediator who will suggest compromises and alterations. Clients will typically pay 1,000 to 2,000 pounds sterling a day, with hearings typically lasting a couple of days, rather than incurring legal bills that can run into six figures. The Centre for Dispute Resolution (CEDR) is the leading proponent of the concept in the UK, having 400 trained mediators, handling around 15 cases a month.
