Koos Group divvies up businesses between brothers

Chester Koo has left the boards of Chia Hsin Cement Corp. and Taiwan Cement Corp., both owned by the Koos Group. The Koo family is dividing their business sectors between Mr. Koo and his younger brother. Mr. Koo remains president of China Life Insurance Co. and chairman of GigaMedia Ltd.

DHL still plans to expand

DHL Worldwide Express Ltd. is forging ahead with its expansion plans in Asia despite the economic slowdown. The international air-express company is spending $300 million on expansion of services in Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan.
