La industria italiana ppujara por lograr losAVE de la linea Madrid-Barcelona

Article Abstract:

The Trevi consortium, comprised of Italian companies Fiat Ferroviaria, Breda, Ansaldo, Firema and German-Swedish-Swiss ADtranz, plans to bid for the manufacturer of the high speed trains for the AVE railway between Madrid and Barcelona in Spain, which will connect to the French border. The product to be promoted by the consortium is the ETR-500 which can circulate at over 300 kilometres per hour. A high-speed network which will use this product is currently being developed in Italy. Trevi will be competing in Spain with Talgo-ADtranz, which is working on a prototype to be ready by the year 2000, Siemens which is developing the IC-3 and with Anglo-French Gec-Alsthom. Trevi plans to bid together with a multinational, either Siemens or Gec-Alsthom, as the consortium has relatively little industrial presence in Spain. New high-speed trains (up to 220 kilometres per hour) are currently being developed for the Madrid-Valencia line by Fiat and Gec-Alsthom.
