Serono discusses settling charges over AIDS drug

Article Abstract:

Serono AG of Switzerland has been investigated and charged with Medicaid fraud in the selling of the AIDS drug Serostim. The pharmaceutical company faces a criminal fine of approximately $145 million and a civil fine of over $300 million. Also, state governments are expected to share a second civil fine of approximately $250 million.
