Taiwan's tech gains fuel optimism despite volatility

The Taiwanese stock market is enjoying an upswing at the moment, as evidenced by an 18% increase in the Taipei Weighted Index since November 1. This has resulted in a boost for the country's technology-heavy fund industry. However, investors remain cautious in this volatile market despite signs of improvement from technology companies.

Ready for Japan's recovery

Article Abstract:

JF Asset Management's fund manager Mark Wood has restructured the company's worst performing fund, JF Asset Fund, so that it will perform well when the Japanese markets pick up. Although the fund lost 21% in the three months ending December 31, Mr. Wood plans to invest aggressively once Japan's sluggish markets improve.
