Major conversion in Poland for ex-Russian pollock factory ship - 105m Engey fillets Atlantic herring

Article Abstract:

The remodeling of Engey, an Icelandic fishing vessel, formerly belonging to Russia, is discussed. Engey was constructed as a pollock factory ship. Its recent remodeling by Nordship yard in Poland has given it additional capabilities of targeting herring and other North Atlantic species. The major alterations carried out by the shipyard for Iceland based HB-Grandi, the owner of Engey, are discussed.

Danish Fornaes, based at the Jutland port of Grenaa, on the Baltic Coast, specializes in the recycling and sale of scrapped fishing vessels. The efforts of the company in meeting the requirements of its customers and the major achievements in scrapping the vessels are explored.

Icelandic ships target redfish market

Article Abstract:

Redfish is in great demand in Germany. Consequently, the Bremerhaven Auctions too are heavily dependent on redfish landings. Many of saithe landings come from Icelandic fishing vessels.
