Counterpoise keeps M16s on target

Article Abstract:

A system that improves the accuracy, reliability and controllability of the AR-15 and M-16 rifles has been developed by Jim Sullivan and Mack Gwinn. The system called Counterpoise enhances the accuracy of the rifle in semi- and fully-automatic fire by reducing perceived recoil impulse by 50% and 80%, in the the firing modes, respectively. The system is expected to be adopted for the US military's standard M16A2 rifles and ultimately into M16 rifles worldwide.
