The Spanish market for fast food: emerging product sectors: non-specialist fast food outlets

Article Abstract:

The fast food market in Spain has seen a growth of a new sector, which is characterized by a vague product specialization. For example, there is an emergence of restaurants that not offer burgers but also pizzas on their menus, while others offer ice cream with coffee as major product. The newest in the market is a format led by Fincorp that offer a wide range of products from pizza, Spanish traditional dishes, to burgers and bocadillos through its Tele Line. The new format signifies a transition from the specialist traditional products that do not offer home delivery service.

Article Abstract:

France has seen the number of foreign tourists staying in three-star and four-star hotels grow during 1994 to 1996 with 41.1% and 14% of total nights respectively in the latter year. The growth was in contrast with two-star and one-star hotels, which posted a drop in shares to 41.2% and 3.7% respectively in 1996. Foreign tourists also commonly use campsites with ready erected tents as a cheap and easy form of holiday accommodation, with beds in campsites growing by 20% to more than 2.8 million in the last six years.
