Mestrallet to become CEO in Suez-GDF merger

Article Abstract:

Chief Executive Gerard Mestrallet, Suez S.A. of France will become chief executive and chairman of the new company created by the merger of Suez S.A. and Gaz de France. The gas utility will also be managed in cooperation with Chief Executive Jean-Francois Cirelli. The new company will be the largest gas utility in the world, valued at 32 billion Euros ($41 billion).

Talisman to buy British oil producer

Article Abstract:

Talisman Energy Inc. of Canada is to acquire Paladin Resources PLC of the United Kingdom for 1.2 billion Pounds ($2.1 billion). The acquisition is a friendly takeover of the British petroleum and natural gas company. Further trends in North Sea deals are expected.

EXCO to buy two gas fields from Anadarko

Article Abstract:

Andarko Petroleum Corp. of the United States is to sell two natural gas installations to Exco Resources Inc. also of the United States for $1.6 billion. The move is an attempt to lower debt of $26 billion to $12 billion by the end of 2007.
