More simulator training in future

Article Abstract:

The European Joint Aviation Authorities (JAA) introduced regulations calling for increase usage of simulators in initial and recurrent helicopter pilot training. The rules also specified acceptable helicopter training systems and the number of simulator hours and categories. JAA regulations, which are expceted to be in place by the end of 200, are expected to affect license standards for helicopter pilots.

Price developments after a nominal shock: Benford's Law and psychological pricing after the euro introduction

Article Abstract:

A study investigated consumer prices before and after the introduction of the euro in 2002 by using Benford's Law as a benchmark for price adjustments. Results demonstrate the usefulness of the benchmark for detecting irregularities in prices, and a clear trend towards psychological pricing after the nominal shock of the euro introduction.
