Multiperiod allocation of substitutable resources

Article Abstract:

The multiperiod resource allocation problem where excess resources can be utilized in subsequent periods and certain substitutions among resources are feasible is analyzed. The results show that the related network is relatively small when the substitutional relations are transitive. In addition, resources are represented by single nodes and part of the possible substitutions are represented by arcs.

Minimax resource allocation problems: optimization and parametric analysis

Article Abstract:

An enhanced model that provides a more efficient search for an optimal solution to minimax resource allocation problems is formulated. The algorithms focus on linear minimax problems with single-variable terms and multiple knapsack-type resource constraints. Post- optimization and parametric analysis schemes are included to guide prospective users.

Graceful reassignment of excessively long communications paths in networks

Article Abstract:

The graceful reassignment is suggested as the heuristic approach for ensuring that the telecommunication path has acceptable length within the specified limits and has proper routing and problem free network flows. The loopholes of Internet Protocol (IP) networks with Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) are discussed.
