STP Ltd of Gurgaon is a leader in the pipe protection, waterproofing, speciality chemicals and road services sectors. Its pipe protection services division at Jamshedpur in Bihar has ISO 9002 certification. The company is the second largest producer of coal tar enamel and synthetic primer in the world. The division was able to export over 8000 tonnes of coal tar enamel in the first year after commencing international operations. The company's Jamshedpur facility houses the industry's only Government of India recognised research and development centre. (khr)
