New environmental guidance manual

Effective environmental management at airports is essential if aviation is to continue to make its vital economic and social cotnribution to UK's sustainable development agenda. The issue of air capacity adn environment emerged in 2000, when the British government launched a consultation document in the run-up to its Air transport White paper expected in 2002. Lease agreements set to loosen airline control

Article Abstract:

Lease agreements between airports and carriers indicate conflicting issues over control of landside facilities, yearly budgets, capital investment decisions and gates. In the US, for instance, short-term lease agreements that average five to seven years are replacing long-term leases that last three decades or more. The Majority In Interest clause, which gives carriers the right of veto concerning airport capital investment programs, is among the conventional clauses that are currently being eliminated by airports.
