Iran has condemned the attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon, but Iran continues to foment hatred of the United States, and supports terrorists financially and materially. Iran continues to rage against Israel for 'atrocities' against 'the oppressed people of Palestine', and condemns the United States for its support of Israel. High leaders in Iranian government have been active in encouraging and supporting known terrorist organizations.

The U.S. is increasing efforts to fight money laundering around the globe in its attempt to cut off terrorist funds, and the Treasury Department has released an anti-money laundering strategy. Obstacles to tracking terrorist money include traditional foreign fund transfers, offshore corporations, trusts, and online banking services.

Many people believe that Arab hatred of the U.S. which led to the September 11 attacks is caused by American support of Israel. However, if Israel did not exist, those Arabs who hate America would still hate the U.S. for its democratic government and capitalist economy.
