North Korea offers up surprises for tourists who manage to get in

Article Abstract:

Beijing, China-based Koryo Tours has offered chartered tours in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (North Korea). Koryo's tour offerings, which include 4-day and 1-week tours for single or group travelers, provide an opportunity for tourists who may find it very difficult to secure a North Korean visa. The tours usually begin in a train ride from Beijing to Pyongyang, North Korea. The tours focus on attractions that range from building structures and edifices, statues, coastlines and to the demilitarized zone.

Daewoo's purchase of Polish car factory fosters its push into remote markets

Article Abstract:

Daewoo Motor Co. recently acquired a $1.1 stake in Polish car manufacturer Fabryka Samochodow Osobowych in line with its strategy of investing in remote and less sophisticated markets. Daewoo chose to set up a manufacturing operation in Poland because it is one of the most attractive car markets in Eastern Europe and because it imposes relatively lower tariffs. The company's strategy contrasts sharply with those of its South Korean rivals, which prefer developed and newly emerging markets.
