Numico N.V. announced that it will shut down seven baby nutrition plants in Europe. The plant closures will lead to the elimination of 525 jobs, as well as to a restructuring charge of 88 million euros.

Numico converts early skeptics ahead of anticipated offering

Article Abstract:

Numico NV is attracting investors who were skeptical early on to its plan to form one of the largest nutrition firms in the world. Numico, a baby and nutritional food manufacturing firm based in Holland, is launching a 1.05 billion euros share and convertible-bond offering. Numico will use the funds to help in the financing of its acquisition of General Nutrition Co. The deal is valued at $2.5 billion (2.4 billion euros).
