Article Abstract:

Rotary Rocket has developed a spacecraft called Roton which uses a propeller. There are a number of companies like Rotary Rocket which aim to use the commercial satellite launch market as an opportunity, and there has been a trend toward developing reusable, light launch vehicles. The Roton is designed in such a way that incremental testing is possible. The company has to raise funds for what is a gamble both in terms of technology and finance.

Bill Gates and Craig McCaw hope to develop a wireless network that uses satellites for personal computer communication. The idea is ambitious as satellites historically do not allow the room that computers would require for communication, and the satellites would work like cellular phone ones.
