Optimal control of work-in-process with dual limit switches in two-stage transfer line

Article Abstract:

A full work system composed of two automated production machines separated by a finite buffer storage controlled by dual switches is evaluated. The feasible states of the work system are determined using the results of the Markov process analysis of the steady state probabilities. In addition, the optimal cost and control parameters were determined using the same search procedure. Finally, the system performance was calculated using sensitivity analysis.

Optimal myopic policy for a stochastic inventory problem with fixed and proportional backorder costs

Article Abstract:

The optimal policy is myopic in general, if the first inventory is below the base-stock level, notwithstanding the values of model parameters and demand density. Inversely, the adequate condition for a myopic optimum needs several restrictions on demand density or parameter values. Nonetheless, this adequate condition is not very limiting, in the sense that it holds immediately for Erlang demand density family.

An optimal procurement policy for items with an inventory level-dependent demand rate and fixed lifetime

Article Abstract:

Research is presented concerning the development of a solution methodology and a mathematical model for the establishment of an optimal procurement strategy where items have a fixed lifetime and inventory level-dependent demand rate.
