Article Abstract:

Santiparb Tejavanija is acknowledged by many as the one responsible for holding the Asian Games in Thailand in 1998. Even though the 52-year-old troubleshooter does not look the part, sports is in his blood. He was a former deputy head of the Olympic mission to the Munich Olympics in 1972. As a tennis player, he also headed the quasidiplomatic mission of Thailand to China in the same year. Since 1986, he has served as the treasurer of the Olympic Council of Asia.
