POLARIS UNVEILS RETAIL BUSINESS MACHINE

Article Abstract:

Polaris Software Lab Ltd (PSLL) of Chennai has launched a retail business machine, called SuperStore XS (SSXS). It has introduced 4 models of SSXS for the fashion, supermarket, pharmaceuticals and watches segments of the retail industry. The software helps in identifying fast selling and maximum yield products, reducing costs and minimising losses on stocks, sales, purchase and accounting. It has projected sales of Rs100 crore in the next 2 years. It plans to spend Rs3-5 crore to promote and market this software. (rk)

TEKTRONIX UNVEILS DIGITAL PHOSPHOR OSCILLOSCOPES

Article Abstract:

Tektronix India has launched digital phosphor oscilloscopes (DPO). The DPO displays, stores and analyses signals in real time using the three dimensions of signal information - amplitude, time and distribution of amplitude over time. The DPO has several advantages over digital storage oscilloscope which make use of two dimensions. Information on the additional dimension helps dynamic interpretation of signals. Engineers will be able to verify the performance of their designs. (vv)

JVR INFOTECH UNVEILS SPEECH RECOGNITION SOFTWARE

Article Abstract:

JVR Infotech Pvt Ltd of Hyderabad and HCL Infosystems have jointly introduced the Dragon range of speech recognition software for the domestic market. Dragon Naturally Speaking, developed by Dragon Systems Inc, is highly accurate, performs fast and has an extensive vocabulary to recognise the toughest general dictation projects. The software has a speed of up to 160 words per minute and works on any Windows-based application. (khr)
