Article Abstract:
The major Danish dairy company MD Foods has stopped exports of butter and cheese to Russia, and is not expected to resume it until in one-two months. However, so far the company's exports to Russia is relatively small, even though there was a four-fold increase in 1997. This growth was mainly attributed to butter in bulk. Cheese exports totalled 1,500 tonnes in 1996. MD Foods is still planning to open a sales office in Moscow in the future.

Britannia of the Nusli Wadia group of companies has a financial and technical collaboration with Danone of France. Its growth has been due to expansion of its product portfolio and introduction of new things in the biscuits and dairy-based segments.
