Phone access fee angers Deutsche Telekom rivals

Article Abstract:

The competitors of Deutsche Telekom AG were hit by a access fee for local telephone networks. The fee was imposed by Germany's telecom watchdog. Analysts believe that the fee will hurt competition in the German market, the largest telephone sector in Europe. Telekom will be permitted to set the fee at 25.40 marks ($14.62) for each customer every month. The company will also be allowed to impose one-time installation fees of 196.55 marks and 337.17 marks per customer.
