Planning a web site

Article Abstract:

A well-planned web site can be an effective business promotion tool for architects. It should provide basic details about the firm and its staff, offer insight into the experience of the firm, and it should be well-designed and regularly updated. However, the business must remember the web site in its general business development strategy to gain maximum value and effectiveness. This may include distribution of the web address rather than an expensive publicity brochure, or giving details of the web address on a proposal rather than agonizing over how much information to include.

How will the RIBA respond to Dearing?

Article Abstract:

RIBA is becoming increasingly popular overseas as the main international validation body for architectural projects, reflecting the UK's role at the forefront of architectural education. However RIBA feels that the current funding system makes it difficult to develop research, and recognizes the need to strengthen professional training. RIBA has welcomed proposals in the Dearing report which relate to research, a move towards preparation for work, and shorter courses in architectural education.
