Primus takes telco battle 'over there'

Article Abstract:

Toronto, Ontario-based Telecommunications services provider Primus Canada is offering Canadian residential customers a 10-cents-per-minute rate for long distance calls to 10 other countries under its 'Small World Small Rate' calling plan. For a monthly fee of $4.95, the offer will apply to long distance calls within Canada, and to the US, UK, France, Germany, Ireland, Netherlands, Belgium, Hong Kong, Denmark and Sweden. The company has launched a national newspaper campaign to support the promotion.

Ontario invites more to pool party

The government of Ontario has invited 19 advertising agencies to join its advertising pool. Currently included in the pool are Gee Jeffrey & Partners; DraftWorlwide; Padulo Integrated; and Thomas Crncich & Partners. New entries are Anderson Advertising; BBDO Canada; Bensimon-Byrne D'Arcy; Communique; Fuel Advertising; Harrod & Mirlin/FCB; Ranscombe & Co; and Vickers and Benson. Not included were Bowen & Binstock; Cossette; Cundari Group; MacPhee + Partners; and Ryan Edwards Communications.

Astle promotes Marketing Store

Article Abstract:

Marketing Store Worldwide has appointed Kevin Astle as its EVP and the managing director of the firm's office in Toronto, Ontario. Astle plans to bring more business to the Canadian operations which has only McDonald's Restaurants as its client. He also aims to turn the Canadian office into an integrated marketing services firm that does public relations, promotions and direct, interactive and traditional advertising.
