Private finance on the rack: the Private Finance Initiative has great theoretical potential for construction projects. But reaction for contractors and civil servants has been wary

Article Abstract:

A Department of Environment survey of contractors' attitude to the PFI appears to indicate a negative attitude. Article Abstract:

Underwriters have not been keen to commit themselves to extending professional-indemnity policies before the publication of the CDM Regulations. There is also concern that the HSE's Approved Code of Practice may not be published until late March. Designers and planning supervisors will incur extra liabilities with the new regulations.
