Imploding star: Indian finance

Article Abstract:

The collapse of the Chain Roop Bhansali (CRB) Capital Markets financial services company in India has caused depositors to panic. CRB's problems arose from minimal regulation, fraud and a 30% decline in the value of its investment portfolio from 1995. Tighter market controls are expected.
