Conectix has launched Virtual PC, its latest Mac product, which provides an environment for PC operating systems and applications. It is faster than the SoftWindows emulation package and can separate the operating system. IMSI has launched NetAccelerator, designed to make downloading of Internet screens faster. Decision Graphics has designed the AutoFM Desktop software range, to enable users to manipulate data on screen, and it has relational database connectivity.

CAD that's not Min anymore: MiniCAD has been around for a long time. Renamed, its new incarnation brings high-level object functionality to both MacOS and Windows users

Article Abstract:

MiniCAD's release on the windows platform brought a challenge to AutoCAD Lt in the mid-range market. Diehl Graphisoft has now released MiniCAD VectorWorks, MiniCAD 7's successor. MiniCAD 8.0 has been renamed VectorWorks, and includes object-based technology and enhanced visualization functionality. It features templates for several industries and new architectural drawing files can be set up easily with the correct layer, class and sheet organization.

For flexible modelling

Article Abstract:

Form.Z is is a capable modelling system and version 3.0 builds on previous incremental releases. The addition of basic animation, object personalities and a fully customisable interface are major new developments. The interface is now much more flexible, and alignment and distribution controls work in any orientation. Also include is pure NURBS modelling, to enable more complex and organic shapes to be produced.
