Profit at Edison International disappoints

Article Abstract:

Edison International Inc. reported a lower-than-expected earnings for the second-quarter of 1999. The company's quarterly earnings reached $128.4 million (125.9 million euros). Edison was hurt primarily by a performance decline in its independent power plant unit. The company also experienced increasing losses at its energy management services division. Edison posted profits of 37 cents per share.

International Power says CEO will leave to join NRG in U.S

International Power PLC's chief executive, David Crane, is resigning from his post at the end of November 2003. Crane will become the chief of NRG Energy Inc.
