PzH 2000 to become Greece's new SPH

Article Abstract:

Krauss-Maffei Wegmann's (KMW) PzH 2000 has been chosen by the Greek Army as its new self-propelled 155mm/52 howitzer. Expected to be announced officially in early 2001, the decision by Greece would make the country the fourth NATO nation to adopt the KMW system. The Greek Army's prospective order involves 24 howitzers, 16 ammunition carriers, four ammunition loaders/unloaders, a training simulator and related equipment. Offset arrangements and local industry participation will amount to 100% and 10% of the contract value, respectively.
