Ogilvy and Mather Canada (O and M) was established in Aug 1960. Its first office was in Toronto, with Andrew Kershaw directing agency operations. Its first client was Shell Oil Co but it was able to add Bristol-Myers, Rountree, Omega Watches during the next year. By 1970, O and M acquired the operations of Mac Shoub Group, while Andrew Kershaw has been appointed as president of O and M New York. Through the years, O and M has been responsible for some of Canada's most memorable advertisements.

PJ DDB makes major cuts

Article Abstract:

Palmer Jarvis (PJ) DDB has announced that it will have to lay off 22 staff members belonging to its account service and media departments as a result of McDonald's Restaurants of Canada's consolidation of its $50-million account with Quebec City, Quebec-based Cossette Communication-Marketing. Seventeen of the layoffs will come from PJ's Vancouver office, while the remaining five from the Edmonton staff of 35.
