Rush of deals propels Peregrine to the top of the heap

Article Abstract:

Peregrine Investment Holdings Ltd. has risen from the 20th place to the top of the Asian-Pacific equity-deals league for 1996. This is expected to enhance the investment bank's prestige while improving its corporate-finance profits for 1996. Through brisk decision-making and exploitation of the right ties, Peregrine was able to win big deals. However, analysts doubt whether the investment firm can maintain its premier status. Increased competition and the unlikelihood of Peregrine being handed the same volume of business each year may work against the firm.
