Peter Buchan and Mark Thompson of Ryder Nicklin, architects, radically changed the management structure, philosophy and approach to gaining new work, three years ago. The practice is now simply called the Ryder company and is aiming for a more national presence. Its specialist broadcasting satellite company has been awarded a studio complex contract for Sony and Kvaerner, and there are plans to move into leisure, with fitness/childcare developments.
