Oracle, Sun plan software-license deal

Article Abstract:

Sun Microsystems Inc. and Oracle Corp. have inked an agreement to license portions of their software products to one another. Industry analysts have said that the licensing agreement, which permits the software firms to bundle Sun's Solaris operating system with Oracle's database software, will create more competition for industry rival Microsoft Corp.'s low-end servers which use Windows NT and SQL Server.
