SITA makes CUTE move in West Africa

Article Abstract:

SITA has signed a five-year contract with Abidjan Airport Management Co (AERIA) for the provision of IT solutions to be used with the latter's Common Use Terminal Equipment. SITA would provide a complete range of IT services, including initial training and complete software platform, installation of all equipment and maintenance. AERIA is the operator of the Abidjan International Airport in the Ivory Coast while SITA is the world's foremost IT provider to the air transport industry.

CUTE choice of SITA for Gatwick

Article Abstract:

BAA PLC has awarded a $9.9 million contract to SITA for its Common Use Terminal Equipment (CUTE) NT/Plus. CUTE will allow shared check-in and boarding throughout 420 workstations at London Gatwick's South Terminal. The contract calls for a complete IT solution, including the software solution and the installation and maintenance of the equipment. CUTE enables the same set of equipment to be configured and used by any airline, providing a 20-30% increase in airport efficiency.

Centralised radar system operational

Article Abstract:

Comsoft has completed the installation of a system which has centralized all the en route and and major airport radars in the UK at Gatwick's service management center. The system is based on Comsoft's CMS/XA architecture and includes many modes of operation. The en route radar control and monitoring system that has displays at two main centers and five sub-centers.
