SMA MEJERIER HARDT RAMT AF MALKEKRIGEN

Article Abstract:

Owing to the breakdown in the negotiations between the two major Danish dairy companies MD Foods and Kl ver Maelk, milk suppliers are losing considerable sums in a price war on cheese and butter. The paper estimates the losses on cheese at several hundreds of million DKr on an annual basis. Ove Jensen, head of the minor, independent dairy Endrup Mejeri, says the price on cheese has never been so low, and that MD Foods has tried to force minor dairies to merge with MD Foods for several years.
