Seoul and Daewoo move to ease foreign bankers' worries; conglomerate to start negotiations with creditors by mid-August, official says

Article Abstract:

Daewoo Group and the South Korean government are trying to appease the anger felt by foreign bankers toward the mishandling of the financial burdens of the holding company. Some bankers such as Foreign Bankers Group Chmn Ed Kelleher expressed his satisfaction after a meeting with the Financial Supervisory Service Asst Gov Oh Kap Soo.
