The advantages of the Caribbean

Article Abstract:

The economies of many nations belonging to the Caribbean region are supported by tourism, which has been a reliable source of foreign exchange earnings and revenue and has grown steadily through time. The market for US merchandise in this region is considerable because the area has limited industry and generally few domestic resources. There is a large demand for all types of processed food, fruits, vegetables and meat products.

Shipping to and across Central America

Article Abstract:

Nations in Central America rely considerably on free trade zones to promote their exports and attract foreign investment. These zones include Puerto Cortes in Honduras, Santo Tomas de Castilla in Guatemala, those of Cartago, Limon, Metro and Puntarenas in Costa Rica and Managua in Nicaragua. Central America's biggest free trade zone is the Colon Free Zone in Panama. Improvements in the region's infrastructure and customs clearing process are benefitting shippers who move freight in and out of it.
