Watching for oil-price rise: winners and losers will emerge in Asia too

Article Abstract:

Goldman Sachs and Co predicts that the confrontation between Iraq and the US will lead to higher oil prices in the international marketplace which will surely affect countries in Asia as well. Improvement in the South Korean economy will be undercut as the dollar rise in the price of oil barrels will knock 0.3 percentage point off its GDP growth. On the other hand, Malaysia's economic recovery efforts will receive a strong boost. Other Asian countries at the losing end would be India and the Philippines.
