ShoppersE prestige play: As pharmacy chains shift upscale, life for beauty marketers is getting more complex

Article Abstract:

Shoppers Drug Mart, CanadaEs largest pharmacy retail store chain has taken up extensive renovation and expansion of structures, and built upbeat storefronts to attract customers. This has been done to accommodate the new prestigious line of beauty products, which shall be displayed at the sleekly designed beauty boutiques built adjacent to the original drugs store. Beauty product manufacturers are in a dilemma, as they do not want to severe ties with their department stores, and are also attracted to the new outlet being presented by Shoppers for their products.

Murray Koffler

Article Abstract:

Shopper's Drug Mart founder Murray Koffler was inducted into the Marketing Hall of Legends in 2008. Koffler is considered as a pioneer in pharmacy marketing for streamlining the products sold in drugstores, and setting standards of selection, service, savings and convenience. The services introduced by Koffler and his drugstores are presented.
