Shortlist for Newcastle partnership

Article Abstract:

Newcastle International Airport has trimmed down its initial list of partners from 30 to two to form a public private partnership to facilitate the future of the Northeast airport. The shortlist comprises Copenhagen Airports and an international consortium made up of Alterra Partners, Zurich Airport and Changi Airport Enterprises. The bidders could potentially purchase 49% of the airport's equity and enter into a technical services agreement.

Chittagong expands

Article Abstract:

The land development of Chittagong, Thailand's MA Hannan International Airport has been completed one and a half months ahead of schedule. With this development, the runway extension and other developments is expected to finalized in Dec 2000. The airport's developments include extension of the runway's pavement, a new exit taxiway, a new apron for three wide- bodied jets and a 18,600 sq mt passenger terminal.

Heathrow introduces a range of new design ideas

Article Abstract:

BAA has extended pier 5 at Terminal 3 at London Heathrow in a construction project that is worth 12.5 million pounds sterling. It includes a common use lounge that serves the four new stands and a coaching gate with capacity to hold 1,600 passengers. The design considered the passenger experience. The pier is expected to handle 2 millio passengers yearly and accommodate aircraft up to B747 size.
