Sikorsky Aircraft

Article Abstract:

Sikorsky Aircraft Corp on Jun 22, 2000 said that it has partnered with Bombardier Aerospace North America. Defence Services Div to offer the S-92 helicopter to meet the requirement of the Canadian Maritime Helicopter. Earlier, Sikorsky has signed up Lockheed Martin Canada to undertake the mission system integration on the S-92. It now plans for Bombardier to handle all completions work on the helicopter. Mirabel, Quebec, Canada- based Bombardier would also be responsible for in-service support and fleet management.

The Russian Mil Mi-17 Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant

Article Abstract:

Mil Mi-17 Aviation Plant of Russia and SME Aviation of Malaysia have entered into an industrial cooperation agreement to develop support and maintenance for Mi-17s operated in Southeast Asia, and to assist in marketing the aircraft throughout the region. Under the agreement, SME will also responsible for parts manufacture, upgrade work and final assembly if the Royal Malaysian Air Force(RMAF) orders the Mi-17 in quantity. The RMAF has a need to replace 31 old Sikorsky S-61A Nuri helicopters.

Bell joins Cormorant team

Article Abstract:

Bell Helicopter Canada (BHC) has singed an agreement in Mar 15, 2000 to join a team proposing the EH101 Cormorant for the Canadian ship-borne helicopter requirement program. Under the deal, BHC's factory in Mirabel will be the site for the final assembly of the Cormorant if it is selected by the Canadian government. The Cormorant team is led by Agusta and GKN- Westland and includes Boeing Canada.
