Article Abstract:

Spar Finland will change their five chain stores to three business units. Superspar and Spar markets will become their own units and the third will include all the other stores, i.e. Eurospar, Rabatti and Spar Express. Each unit will be responsible for their own purchasing, marketing and field operations. The competition manner of the different store types will differ from each other. Three support units will be responsible for store development, development of operations and administration. Spar wants to clarify the chain store business idea and add distinctiveness. The goal is to improve the market position.

An American special magazine of the energy field has chosen the Finnish Teollisuuden Voima's Olkiluoto as the world's best nuclear power plant. Olkiluoto received top scores both in utilization security and for the renewal project. The Olkiluoto plants were numbers 1 and 2 in the worldwide usability statistics for a three year period. Also the renewal project of FIM 800mn (USD 155mn) lasting for four years was performed outstandingly.
