An investigation of interindustry IT innovation

Article Abstract:

The benefits gained by the manufacturing industry from utilizing information technology is not determined by the specific industrial sector.organizations in different industries from using information technology (IT). A sample of 310 manufacturing firms in Israel indicated that different organizations can have different benefits from utilizing similar applications as determined by organizational characteristics. However, no significant differences exist concerning the gains from utilizing IT for competitiveness, decision making and strategic purposes.

One act, many meanings

Article Abstract:

A photo taken by a foreign photojournalist featured a Chinese male citizen stepping in front and halting the advance of a column of army tanks in Beijing, 1989. The image was widely transmitted by the Chinese government which claimed that it illustrated the restraint of the Chinese soldiers. Westerners appear to be enamored by this photograph as it depicts human hope and courage standing up to and challenging the remorseless machinery of state power.
