Striving for new care and ascension

Article Abstract:

Nursing Home Properties (NHP) Chief Executive Richard Ellert forecasts his company will move into the Spanish market by the end of 1998. The property company was established to buy or lease nursing homes in the UK. The flotation of the company, in 1995, only made some 500,000 pounds sterling but by Mar. 31 1997 the company turnover had grown to 2.67 million pounds sterling, an increase of 324% from 1996. Demand for nursing homes is growing due to the increase in the number of people aged over 85 years. NHP owned five nursing homes, by late 1995, which had increased to 87, by Sept 1997.
