Summer camps a la Suisse

Article Abstract:

Summer camps are not exclusive to Americans as the Swiss have come up with their own interesting variations on the summer camp. Switzerland's summer camps offer language courses, aside from the usual sport and adventure activities. Environmental awareness, creative arts and computer classes are also offered in the Swiss summer camps. Enrollees' ages usually range from 10-17 years old, while tennis camps accept participants as young as eight years old.

Switzerland's Irish links

Article Abstract:

Ties between Ireland and Switzerland go as far back as the seventh century when the Irish monk Gallus settled in the valley of the Steinach to help strengthen Christianity in Europe. The two countries have continued to enjoy good relations until the present day. Switzerland has a small resident Irish community and a good number of active expatriate associations. Trade, investment and passenger traffic between the two countries are also significant.
