TRW nears agreement to acquire LucasVarity

Article Abstract:

TRW Inc. is close to reaching a deal to acquire LucasVarity PLC. LucasVarity is an Anglo-American firm. TRW is an auto parts and aerospace company based in the US. In addition, Federal-Mogul Corp. has made a $6.44 billion "bear hug" bid to acquire LucasVarity. The offer could become a serious obstacle to TRW's planned takeover of LucasVarity. The details of TRW's potential acquisition of LucasVarity are still being developed.
