Taipei is seen as lucrative site for developers, investors

Article Abstract:

Investors and developers of medium-sized property-development firms can take advantage of the market in Taipei, Taiwan. The players who already have developments in the capital will benefit from robust demand. Additional development is unlikely since Taipei is located in a river basin bordered by mountains. Meanwhile, markets in Taiwan border on collapse and property valuations fall. Jardine Fleming Taiwan Securities Ltd. property-sector analyst Nick Ouyang perdicted that the real-estate industry of Taipei will improve by the first quarter of 1999.

Residential transactions revive Thai real-estate industry

Thailand's real estate industry, the sickest segment of the economy, is being revived by increasing demand in the residential market, with the outlook for single-detaches houses views as "optimistic." Overinvestment in the property market was a major factor in the country's recession. Developers have been caught by surprise.
